How to encode text as Base64
Choose Text → Base64, paste your text, and select Convert. For example, Hello becomes SGVsbG8=. Copy the output or download it as a text file. Unicode text is encoded as UTF-8 bytes before Base64 conversion, so accented characters and emoji are supported.
How to decode Base64
Choose Base64 → Text, paste the encoded value, and select Convert. This tool expects standard, padded Base64 and decodes its bytes as UTF-8 text. Invalid input produces an error. It does not unpack binary files, images, JWT tokens or URL-safe Base64.
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 changes the representation of data; anyone can decode it without a password. Do not use it to hide passwords, access tokens or personal information. This tool processes input locally, but the encoded result is still as sensitive as the original.
Why are there equals signs at the end?
The standard Base64 alphabet represents bytes in groups. One or two equals signs may be needed as padding at the end. They are part of the encoded output and should be retained when required by the receiving system.
