What this tool does
JSON Workpad is a free browser utility for formatting, validating, viewing, and comparing JSON. It preserves numeric literals so long IDs and decimal values are not rounded. Formatting and validation reject duplicate object keys. Comparison flags duplicates and uses the last value for each repeated key in the same object, without editing your input.
Your JSON stays in this page
The application processes pasted text and selected files locally in your browser. It does not send your JSON to a server or store it in browser storage. Reloading or closing the page clears the tool's in-memory state, though your browser may independently restore form values. Copy and Download only run when you select those actions.
Converters
JSON/CSV and text/Base64 converters process up to 1 MB of text locally. Image conversion accepts PNG, JPEG and WebP files up to 10 MB and 20 million pixels. Images are re-encoded in your browser; animation and original metadata are not preserved. JSON-to-CSV export uses an apostrophe prefix for formula-like cells. Conversion results should be reviewed before use.
Hosting and third parties
Loading the website involves normal requests to its hosting provider, which may process connection information such as your IP address and request logs under its own policies. The application currently has no analytics, advertising scripts, tracking cookies, or third-party font requests. This statement describes the application, not browser extensions or the hosting platform.
Limits and accuracy
Files are limited to 1 MB and 120 nesting levels. Tree previews show up to 1,500 nodes, and change cards show up to 500 differences. The aligned comparison supports up to 12,000 combined lines with a complexity limit; character highlighting may fall back to whole-line highlighting. Object key ordering and string escape spelling can change on formatting. Comparison respects array order and numeric spelling. Always review output before using it in production. The tool is provided as-is without a guarantee of fitness for a particular purpose.
Advertising
No advertising is active in this version. If advertising is introduced, this notice will be updated to describe the providers and relevant privacy choices before their scripts are enabled.
