COMPARE WITH CONFIDENCE

at your revisions.

Compare text or source code

Paste both versions or open a UTF-8 file on each side, then select Compare texts. Matching lines line up; a striped blank cell marks an insertion or deletion. Darker highlights identify individual character changes. Select Next change to move through the result or show only changed lines.

What do the options ignore?

Ignore case treats uppercase and lowercase as equal. Ignore whitespace collapses runs of whitespace within each line and ignores spaces at the start and end of a line. Blank lines still count as lines. Line endings are normalized, so Windows and Unix line endings compare equally. Your input text is not edited.

How is this different from JSON compare?

Text compare works with prose, logs, SQL, configuration and source code without parsing their meaning. It treats object key order and number spelling as text. Use JSON compare for syntax checking, duplicate-key warnings and field-level changes.

Privacy and size limits

Processing runs in this browser; text is not uploaded or saved by the tool. Inputs are limited to 1 MB each and 12,000 combined lines. A complexity limit protects responsiveness on very different documents. Character highlights can fall back to whole-line highlights for large changes.
