CSV TO JSON CONVERTER

Turn CSV rows
into JSON records.

Use your first CSV row as property names.
Keep values as strings so identifiers and dates are not guessed.

CSV to JSON

Up to 1 MB. Use comma-separated CSV with a unique header row. All values stay strings.

HOW IT WORKS

CSV to JSON
without the guesswork.

Convert a CSV file into objects

  1. Paste comma-separated CSV or open a UTF-8 .csv file.
  2. Make sure the first row contains unique, nonempty column names.
  3. Select Convert and review the resulting array of objects.
  4. Copy the JSON or download it as a .json file.

Example: preserve product identifiers

sku,name,quantity
001,Desk lamp,12
002,Notebook,8

The first record becomes {"sku":"001","name":"Desk lamp","quantity":"12"}. Quantity remains a string, as does the identifier. This avoids guessing which numeric-looking values should be numbers.

Commas, quotes and multiline text

Wrap a field containing commas or line breaks in double quotes. Escape a quote within a quoted field by doubling it. For example, "Pen set, blue" remains one cell, and "She said ""hello""" becomes a string containing quotation marks.

Why did the converter reject my file?

Each record must have the same number of cells as the header. Repeated or blank headers are rejected to prevent lost values. A quote must start a quoted field, and quoted fields must close. Semicolon-separated and tab-separated files are not supported by this comma-separated converter.

Type handling and limits

All cells become JSON strings, including empty cells. No dates, booleans, prices or IDs are automatically converted. Files must be UTF-8 and smaller than 1 MB. Conversion runs locally; files are not uploaded or saved by the application.
